How to Drop Time on Your 60-Yard Dash Without Running More

The 60 is the most important tool test in baseball recruiting. And most athletes train it completely wrong. Here's the smarter approach we use at The Dojo.
The 60 Is a Technique Test, Not a Conditioning Test
Most athletes try to improve their 60 by running more 60s. But the 60 is almost entirely a technique test — especially in the first 10 yards. Your acceleration phase, your arm drive, your forward lean — these determine your time more than your conditioning level. Fix the technique first.
The First 10 Yards Win the Test
Scouts are watching your first 10 yards harder than any other segment. Your stance, your push-off angle, and your first three steps are where time is either made or lost. A 45-degree forward lean, explosive triple extension from the drive leg, and high knees in the acceleration phase will cut tenths off your time fast.
Arm Drive Is Underrated
Your arms control your legs. Hard, compact arm swings — elbows bent at 90 degrees, driving back and forward — directly set the tempo for your stride. Loose, wide arm swings waste energy and slow you down. It sounds like a small detail. It's not.
